The Caterpillar’s Cove Child Development and Study Centre
is a child study centre that aims to set new boundaries
through quality and innovative curriculum and programmes
to meet the needs of the children from 18 months to 6
years.
Being a child study centre, The Cove provides
a site for faculty research and teacher training in early
childhood education and also serves as a model and demonstration
facility. Because of this facility, many visitors want
to observe and/or participate in the programme in a variety
of ways. We receive many types of requests for visitation.
It is a policy requirement that all visitors except
parents of enrolled children must sign in at the childcare
office and wear a nametag.
ALL VISITORS ARE REQUIRED TO
PROVIDE THE CHILDCARE OFFICE WITH THEIR FULL NAMES,
IDENTIFICATION (in the form of identity card or passport
number and where applicable their business cards) AND
CONTACT NUMBERS.

Adult
Visitors
Parents of enrolled children: The Cove’s “open
door” policy invites parents to visit or observe the
programme at their convenience. Parents are advised to
refer to the Policy for Parental Observation found in
The Cove’s Parent Handbook.
Potential and/or waiting
list parents: The parent(s) must make an appointment
by calling the centre in advance (Tel. No. 6464-5219).
Centre tours led by the Centre Administrator, Senior
Teacher or Centre Director will be offered. Parents must
sign in at the childcare office.
Non-ECE Faculty visits:
If a general interest in the overall operations is desired,
The Cove can schedule visits subject to the approval
by the Executive Director and/or Centre Director. Such
queries may involve individuals interested in the architectural
design of our facility, overall programme operations,
and/or a general introduction to the way childcare and
early education programming is offered at The Cove.
Special
educational and/or individual visitations: Sometimes
it s necessary to plan individualised tours and informational
visits due to the nature and purpose of the visit. These
visits are subject to the approval by the Management
Committee of The Cove and will be restricted to bi-monthly
intervals and subject to operational exigencies of The
Cove. Examples of these special visitors include – members
of the media, government / ministry officials, researchers
/ research fellows, early childhood faculty and staff,
visiting scholars and professionals.
CONTROLLING OUTBREAKS
OF INFECTIOUS DISEASES
During periods of a cycle of an
infectious disease, no visitors will be allowed into
the childcare centre.
THE CATERPILLAR’S COVE CHILD DEVELOPMENT AND
STUDY CENTRE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO POSTPONE OR DENY
REQUEST FOR VISITATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROTECTING
THE RIGHTS AND WELL-BEING OF CHILDREN, PARENTS, AND
STAFF AND ITS PROGRAMMATIC INTEGRITY.
