The Caterpillar’s Cove Child Development and Study Centre
focuses on growing children’s potential and connecting
a learning community through sharing, research and teacher
education. Working together, we strive to exemplify the
best child care and educational practices for the benefit
of children, families and the larger community.
Relationships
The Caterpillar’s Cove centres on relationships,
how each part of our school creates and supports every
other part: child, teacher, parent, staff, environment,
and community.
Children,
the focus of our programme
Children are the focus of the preschool programme. Each
child is viewed as a valuable human being and a contributing
member to the community, bringing along with him a rich
fabric of individual, social and cultural experience
which will enrich other children and teachers.

Teachers are an important part of the centre
At The Caterpillar’s Cove, we value the teachers and teaching. The centre
is committed to keeping the joy of learning alive for both teachers and
children. All the teachers are highly qualified with at least a Diploma
in Early Childhood Education. With a joy in teaching, the teachers’ passion
has a lasting and profound influence on the children’s positive attitudes
towards learning. They treat children equitably and have an understanding
of how children develop and learn. They first seek to establish a bond
with the child and then educate the whole child physically, intellectually,
socially, emotionally and aesthetically. Our teachers create an intellectually
vital, emotionally safe, and supportive environment to encourage every
child’s holistic development.
Being a child study centre means to provide an exemplary and quality preschool programme. Our teachers strive to exemplify the virtues they seek to inspire in the student teachers – passion, patience, reflective and experimental.
Parents are a vital part of
the centre
We believe in cultivating effective partnerships with
parents through consultation, collaboration and negotiation.
Advocates for children
We have a responsibility to be advocates for children
to the larger community by respecting and empowering
children and their rights. |
